At Austin Golden doodles, we are over the moon happy because we have gorgeous puppies. This morning I was cleaning their play area and they Babies kept playing with my hands. Of course! as you can imagine, I stopped what I was doing and played hugs & puppy tickles… In return I got lots of kisses.

Hands down the best part of my job….

The 3 Different Fur colors

I get asked all of the time the different type of fur colors that we breed so I decided to make this blog to help all of our parents identify the fur color of their choice. Below you’ll find a picture of what our gorgeous mommas breed…

  • BRONZE

    Imagine that gorgeous bronze coopery looking fur that glows in the sun…. Well that is what we call Bronze!. Other people call it chocolate, some auburn or dark brown!. It is for sure one of the most exotic and rare combinations that we breed. They are usually more expensive because they are super hard to come around. To give you an idea: between 20 to 30 babies we might get lucky and get 1 Bronze golden doodle puppy.

  • ROSE GOLD

    The gorgeous color in between Bronze and Blonde, or what some would call “Strawberry Blonde” is what we call Rose Gold Fur.. This light sun-kissed color makes the perfect instapuppy. This fur looks awesome in photos and gorgeous in person, thats right!, this is one of the most popular puppy fur colors that you see allover instagram. It has a combination of gorgeous blonde and Rose Gold sunkissed highlights that make a sexy multidimensional look.

  • BLONDE

    A gorgeous sun-kissed color on its own. Clean and beautiful with a blonde-sun-kissed-caramel look! It is not cream, it is not white, is just the perfect blonde. Babies usually have a few high and low highlights that create that romantic kissable puppy look!


So which one would you pick?

I wished I had a magic wand to be able to tell what puppy fur colors our mommas are going to breed but we can’t guess until they are born. For the most part we have a pretty good idea when we pair them with their boyfriends… but what I can tell you is that regardless of what you have your heart set on, with either puppy fur combination you can’t go wrong. They are all magical, playful and precious.

DO THEIR FUR CHANGES WITH TIME?

Yes! Just like humans but not as drastic. Again each puppy is a different case. Just like our hair can change during puberty, well, imagine what? Your puppy’s hair can also change. As we hit our 30’s, we start showing grey hair… well guess what? your puppy could also get some fur fading or what I called them “grey furs” HAHA!… they are not exactly like grey hair but from time to time you’ll see a few hairs that weren’t there when they were born!

I noticed that my dogs hair changed or fade with time. Some stay the same, some start showing fur changes after a year or their first haircut… but regardless of their color changes, a dog is an unconditional friend and there is no more pure love than the love from a puppy!
