POTTY TRAINING & FEEDING

Imagine your puppy is like a newborn child: you would not expose your newborn baby to strangers in the first few weeks of his life and you would also use diapers on your little gem... well the puppy should be treated the same way for the first 4 months of his life, including 3 sets of vaccines 💉 💕 🐶.

  • PARVO VIRUS is a deadly disease and your puppy is not fully vaccinated.

Our Ideal Corral

Set up a corral in your home with a bed, some toys and a litter box with paper pellets for your puppy to be able to use the potty overnight.

You can add a small crate and a bed inside the crate, placing both inside of the corral, leaving the crate door open so your puppy can go in and out her crate to use the potty!

Feed puppy inside the corral and within 30 minutes the puppy would have a bowl movement. Control water or your furbaby would be peeing everywhere!

Cheers to a successful potty training journey!

HOW TO POTTY TRAIN AT HOME:

You should set up something like the photo above for a successful potty training journey!

  • YOUR BABY IS POTTY TRAINED At Austin Goldendoodles, we train all of our puppies to use the potty starting at 3 weeks old. Your fur baby is used to potty in a paper pellet litter box just like cats!

    • Introduce your puppy to his potty area as soon as you take your puppy home.

    • Set the litter box inside a small corral and watch them use their potty all of the time even while you sleep.

    • Pick up the bowl movements and change paper pellets as needed.

  • FEEDING: Feed 1/2 cup of dog food morning, lunch and dinner.  Puppies would have a bowl movement within 30 minutes after they eat. It could be 5 minutes after they eat up to 30 minutes.

  • PUPPY CORRAL: a corral is the best way to give tour puppies a safe zone.

    • My suggestion so you can have a life:  Feed them inside their corral so they can eat and use the potty right after. This way you’ll have time to do laundry, cook, go to the gym and puppy would have a safe area inside your home until she/he gets older.

    • All puppies need a safe zone aka their crib! Set them up for success and watch after they have their vaccines use the potty right away! They are tooooo smart! They’ll learn to potty outside the house in a snap!

  • MONITOR WATER! Do not leave water easily attainable for them or they would pee every 20 minutes.

  • VITAMINS: they take 1/4 of the entire vitamin as they are tiny. Gradually increase as they gain weight... instructions on the back of the bottle!.

    • You should just place the vitamin in their food bowl and trust me they’ll eat.

    • They live such a short life compared to humans... feed them correctly and give them their vitamins so they can live a longer life around you.

Happy purenting! Please send me tons of photos!!
